CARE FEST 2008 To Help Struggling Area Families

Norfolk, VA—Bishop B. Courtney McBath and Calvary Revival Church will host one of the most unique festivals to hit Hampton Roads: CARE FEST 2008, on Saturday, June 28 beginning at 10:00 a.m. on the campus of Calvary Revival Church.
Partnering with Pastor Steve Kelly of the WAVE Church in Virginia Beach, CARE FEST is a community event whose primary purpose will be to provide aid to struggling families.  The event features free health screenings for children and adults; a walk-a-thon that benefits unwed pregnant teens and a large blood drive. In addition - food, fun, live entertainment and one of the largest garage sales in the area.  It’s a day of activities for the entire family.
“CARE FEST is an event that I’ve had on my heart to do for many years,” says organizer and founder of CRC, Bishop B. Courtney McBath. “It’s something that will be fun for the entire family plus benefit so many families in need within our community.”
“The fact that Pastor Steve Kelly, of the WAVE Church, one of the largest churches in Hampton Roads, has partnered with us, only makes the impact of what we are doing that much more tremendous,” continues McBath.
“We are very excited about this amazing opportunity to partner with Calvary Revival Church for CARE FEST 2008,” adds Steve Kelly, Senior Pastor of Wave Church. “We are two churches with similar visions and passions toward helping people and affecting the community.  Through the power of friendship and the support from donors to volunteers, we hope to see thousands of lives changed.  This event, we hope will spark other churches and organizations to work together to see what can be done when united.”
Another partner of CARE FEST is the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters.  Scheduled to do family oriented workshops, CHKD along with other health professionals will provide informative sessions on nutritional tips for children as well as medical screenings for: cholesterol, blood pressure, sickle cell and diabetes. Free HIV testing will also be provided.
