Eureka Debutantes Are Introduced At Annual Cotillion

Chesapeake, VA—On April 25, 2008 The Eureka Club, Inc.  presented 24 young ladies during their annual Cotillion Ball at the Chesapeake Conference Center.  The cotillion was attended by over 300 family, friends and Eureka Club members.   Each young lady was escorted by a fine young gentleman and presented by their Eureka Sponsor.  Parents of the debutantes were introduced. Mothers were presented with a dozen of long stem roses by their daughters, while fathers were given the honor of the traditional father daughter waltz.
This event was breath taking and a proud moment for all who attended. Over $13,000 in scholarships were awarded based on academics, volunteer  involvement and participation in Debutante activities.
The Eureka Club, Inc. which was established in October of 1915 by A. David Sanford, Horace Savage, Sr., Earl Coston, Jerome Laws, Albert Gosprey and several other civic minded gentlemen, has an established history of connecting its members and debutantes with our local community.   The 24 young ladies presented for this year’s Cotillion, along with their escorts, spent numerous hours practicing for the cotillion, attending development workshops and trainings, volunteering in the community and building friendships that will last forever.
