Gospel Recording Star To Appear

   Gospel giant Marvin Sapp will help the congregation of Second Calvary Baptist Church show its appreciation to its pastor, the Rev. Dr. Geoffrey V. Guns, whose 25th anniversary will be celebrated June 6 at 7 p.m. at the Founder’s Inn in Virginia Beach.
   The anniversary dinner concert will kick off the month-long celebration. Famous for the gospel hit “Never Would Have Made it,” Sapp began singing in the church at age 4. He has recorded with gospel greats, as well as soul singers such as Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway and Teddy Pendergrass. A Grammy winner, he became an evangelist in 1988. He describes himself as a preacher who is also gifted and called to sing.
    Tickets are $50 for adults and $25 for children, 4-12 years old. For more information, please phone 627-8462.
