HU Speaker Inspired Movie

   Christopher Gardner, who served as the keynote speaker at the 138th Annual Hampton University Commencement Exercises on May 11, was also a proud parent. His daughter, Jacintha Gardner, received a bachelor's degree in business management and became the first person in his family to graduate from college. Gardner, the CEO of Christopher Gardner International Holdings with offices in New York, Chicago, and San Francisco, overcame many obstacles to become a successful entrepreneur. His amazing story was the inspiration for the 2006 movie "The Pursuit of Happyness," staring Will Smith.
