Marquis Named
Staff Attorney In
Sheriff’s Office

     Traci Marquis is the new Staff Attorney for the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office, announced Sheriff Robert McCabe recently.
   “Ms. Marquis is a very talented and well-rounded attorney with some 20 years of legal experience,” he said, going on to list her string of credentials.

    “Some of her career highlights include:  former Assistant U.S. Attorney in Texas, private practitioner; and staff counsel to the Tandy Corporation. In Connecticut, she was a regional legal consultant to The Hartford Insurance Group where she managed high dollar commercial litigation for the Midwest and Canada region as well as managed national specialty claim lines.  Most recently, she worked as an assistant city attorney for the City of Norfolk.” 
      Marquis, the wife of Norfolk police Chief Bruce Marquis, served as an adjunct law professor for Regent School of Law for two fall terms. She graduated from the University of Texas’ undergrad and law school program and holds an LL.M. from Columbia University School of Law. 
      She and her husband have two children, Preston Marquis, age 13, and Prentiss Marquis, age 11.
