The Math Bowl
 

   Last week, at  P.B.Young Elementary, the fourth annual Math Bowl competition was held. The event is sponsored by State Senator Yvonne Miller of Norfolk. Forty students at the school competed in the event for cash prizes.  Pictured to the left  Senator Miller (standing) talks to the  students before the competition begins.  The contestants were grouped in teams of five and Math Teams Three and Four walked away with the top prizes. Team Three First Prize winners:  Measia Taylor-Ward, Tyquan Harrell, Ivan Copeland, Jauaqueya Perry and Ciara Bynum. Team Four First Prize Winners:  Keshawn Hariston, Terryain Fugate, Joanne Williams, Lauryn Overton and Tyliek Copeland. Photo Derrick Smith
