National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Convenes In Philadelphia

 

  The 68th Eastern Regional Conference of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. was held in Philadelphia April 17-20. Local members and friends of Alpha Lambda Chapter of Norfolk, Alpha Chi Chapter of Portsmouth, Delta Gamma of Chesapeake and Gamma Mu of Virginia Beach boarded a comfortable bus and traveled to Philadelphia.
  The theme of the conference for professional women educators was: “Creating Meaningful Pathways Through Education”. The theme was carried out through the use of professional and development workshops, educational tours and special speakers.

 Highlights of the banquet were twofold: Alpha Lambda’s nominee, Mrs. Sarah Peoples-Perry, Principal of Campostella Elementary School in Norfolk, was the recipient of the Eastern Region Citation Award for outstanding community service. Other awards were also announced. The” Men In Our Lives” sang and serenaded the women-WOW!
  The 2009 conference will be in Brooklyn, New York.
