Norfolk Mission College Alumni Association Luncheon “Our Heritage” was the theme of the 125th Anniversary of the Norfolk Mission College with the family members and friends of the former students gathering for a memorial-historical luncheon at the Holiday Inn Select in Norfolk. Mrs. Angela W. King, president of the Alumni group, presided. Miss Lucille Olds gave the welcome address and Minister Beatrice Sharrod gave the invocation and grace. Violin music was provided by young Master Thorn. Mrs. Beverly Jones Powell gave the history of Norfolk Mission College. Ms. Ruth Rose gave an up-date on her upcoming book on Norfolk. |

Four special awards were given to high school seniors. Jerald Edwards, a BTW grade received the David G. Jacox Award for Academics. Tray Willingham received the Walter C. Fulford Award for Achievement in Music. Amber Flood was awarded the J. Eugene Diggs Award for Law, and Christopher Butler, of Lake Taylor High School was awarded the Samuel F. Coppage Award for Civic Leadership. Dr. S.F. Coppage, Jr.. made the presentation to Master Butler.
