   For the first time In American history, an African American has won the nomination of one of the two major political parties.
First term Illinois Senator Barack Obama, clinched the Democratic party on June 3 when he secured the required number of pledged and super delegates to qualify for the Nomination. Obama, after five grueling months, 50 primaries and inspired millions of new voters to get involved in the political process, will now begin the Fall General Election campaign against Republican Arizona Senator John McCain. At this point according to various polls, Senator Obama has a slight lead over McCain. The General Election is November 4th

Senator Hillary Clinton: 1,919
