On Campaign Trail WASHINGTON (NNPA)—Despite Senator Hillary Clinton’s recent landslide win in Kentucky (65-30 percent), Democratic Presidential front-runner Senator Barack Obama is still celebrating an insurmountable lead in pledged delegates after defeating Clinton 56-42 percent in Oregon. Obama, who is now only 73 delegates shy of the 2,026 delegates needed to secure the Democratic nomination, leads in every category, including super delegates, 305-277. Clinton is hoping to convince the remaining 218 super delegates that she is best able to win the general election against Republican Sen. John McCain in the fall because she has won a strong contingency of vastly “working class” states, such as West Virginia, Kentucky and Pennsylvania.
