South Hampton Roads Pan Hellenic Council Recognizes Unsung Heros
NORFOLK—The South Hampton Roads Pan Hellenic Council— SHARPC — recognized the performance of members and community leaders at a banquet held on March 16. More than 250 gathered at Murray Center to honor selected members of the nine historically Black Greek letter organizations. Bonita Billingsley-Harris, herself a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, was mistress of ceremonies.
The council presented its Divine Nine Award for community service by a Black Greek to Rev. Kenneth W. Crowder, pastor of Metropolitan AMEZ Church. Crowder is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. SHARPC also recognized the contributions by a non-Greek by awarding its 2008 Community Service Award to Milton A. Coveney.
