26th Annual Debutante Cotillion Is Portsmouth's Pink and Green Fantasy

Gamma Delta Omega Chapter held its 26th Annual Debutante Cotillion, "A Pink and Green Fantasy" on Saturday, March 29, at the Willett Hall Auditorium in Portsmouth.  More than 1,000 guests and other dignitaries attended the presentation of 19 lovely young ladies to society.
In preparation for the Cotillion, the debutantes were involved in educational and cultural activities over the past seven months.  The activities included a Debutante Talent Show, Salvation Army Toys for Tots & Angel Tree campaign, attending a "Yolanda Adams Concert," and  church worship at Emanuel A.M.E. Church in Portsmouth.
This year, 19 young ladies from area high schools were presented based upon academic performance, leadership abilities and community service involvement.  Cotillion activities were planned to further enhance the outstanding abilities and talents of these young ladies where they participated in community service projects and were provided an opportunity to earn college scholarships.
