Norfolk Preteen Wins Contest

RICHMOND – Miss Prentiss Marquis, who was crowned Miss Greater Richmond Preteen in Richmond Feb. 2, will help to increase funds and awareness for Norfolk’s Animal Management Center.

Miss Prentiss Marquis

She is now preparing for the Miss Virginia’s Outstanding Preteen competition in June in Roanoke.  Prentiss, an 11-year old, 6th grader at James Blair Middle School in Norfolk, is the daughter of Norfolk Police Chief Bruce and Attorney Traci Marquis.
Prentiss was last year’s Preteen Miss Chesterfield and a Top 10 finalist in Miss Virginia's Outstanding Preteen competition. During her reign, she will participate in numerous events to promote fundraising and awareness at Norfolk’s Animal Management Center while continuing to develop her scholastic achievements, creative talents, accomplishments, plus volunteer community service and healthy living through the Miss Virginia’s Outstanding Preteen program that is affiliated with the Miss America Scholarship program.
Last year Caitlin Brunell won Teen Miss Greater Richmond, winning the Virginia teen crown and capturing Miss America’s Outstanding Teen, a title which included $30,000 in scholarships.
Andolyn Medina, also from Chesapeake, was last year’s Preteen Miss Greater Richmond and 2nd runner-up in that division.
If you are interested in inviting Prentiss to attend your community event as a special guest or to perform volunteer work with your organization, please contact Sue Cox, executive director, by email at missgtrrichmond@yahoo.com, or by phone:  (804) 387-9182.
