Beach Omegas Select Talent Hunt Winners

 

 

 

    Gamma Xi Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity held its annual Talent Hunt on March 13 at St. Francis Episcopal Church. First place went to Nate Swanson, 16, of Va. Beach. The First Colonial High School sophomore performed Mozart’s “Fantasia in D Minor” on piano, and will represent the chapter at a district competition in Richmond in April. The winner of the district contest will perform at the Omega Conclave in Birmingham, AL in July.
    Second place went to violinist, Jerenda Nicole Manley, playing a contemporary piece entitled “Summer Madness”. The 18-year-old is a senior at Oscar Smith High in Chesapeake. Rounding out the top three was 15-year-old Andre’ Pierre Jefferson, who played “Flight of the Bumble Bee” by Korsakov on the clarinet. He is a freshman at Western Branch High in Chesapeake. 
David Whitted was the emcee, and Previn Garett chaired the Talent Hunt Committee.
