Annual Tim Reid Event Slated For This Weekend

  The annual Tim Reid Celebrity Weekend celebration returns to Hampton Roads this weekend, featuring Hollywood celebrities, pro football players doubling as coaches, and much more.
   The 18th annual event will be held May 15-17 in Suffolk, Newport News, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and Norfolk.
   “The challenges facing today’s youth are numerous and daunting,” the Reids note in an online press release. “The Foundation wants to ensure that our talented young students have an opportunity to cultivate their minds.”

   Currently 24 students attend 11 different colleges and universities, thanks to the Virginia Scholarship and Youth Development foundation Tim and Daphne Reid founded in 1990.
   More than 5,000 people attend the annual event. Major support is provided by corporations, organizations, businesses, and friends.
