Veterans May Be Eligible For Honorary High School Diplomas
ACCOMAC—Veterans who were unable to complete their high school education may be eligible to receive an honorary high school diploma. The Virginia Department of Veterans Services and the Virginia Employment Commission arc accepting applications from veterans for Honorary High School Diplomas.
To quality the veteran must have served in the military during World War II (1941—1946), the Korean Conflict (1950—1955) or in Vietnam (1961—1975). Applications for diplomas will be accepted until .July 25. 2008. There is no charge for the diploma.
A graduation ceremony honoring veterans who receive an Honorary High School Diploma is planned for August 16, 2008 at Nandua High School in Onley, Virginia.
